This past week at the MTV awards, the audience was forced to suffer through an attempt at political humor by a nondescript British comedian named Russel Brand. He began by urging Americans to elect Brack Obama for "the good of the world". Brand also made sexually charged comments about Vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and of course the devil himself, George Bush by referring to him as "that retarded Cowboy fella". Entertainers bashing Republicans is nothing new however this latest tirade gave me pause. The reason why foreigners feel free to come to our country to bash our leaders is because the entertainment industry has given them license to do so. They go around the world ala the Dixie Chicks, Michael Moore and Harry Belafonte and bash our country and leaders (Republicans) in order to ingratiate themselves to the "morally superior" world community.
