Mile High City Gets A Little Higher

Several hundred people stood in line in Colorado on January 1st enduring the cold weather. They were not however waiting on jobs, they were waiting for their opportunity to purchase Marijuana legally as Colorado becomes the first State to 'experiment with legalized pot. "It's a huge deal for me," said Andre Barr, a 34-year-old deliveryman who drove from Niles, Mich., to be part of the legal weed experiment. "This wait is nothing." All eyes will be on the State as it becomes the first to attempt to implement a legal Marijuana industry. 24 shops opened Wednesday, mostly around Denver with few reported problems. However, the long term consequences are yet to be realized. aside from the perceived economic benefits; increased tourism and taxation, there are numerous unresolved legal and logistical questions.
