Groundhog Day in Illinois
There are a few of things you can count on in Illinois: The Cubs won't win a world series, The Taste of Chicago Festival in Grant Park and one of their Governors being investigated. Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was arrested by FBI agents last week on public corruption charges. The Governor's own words captured on FBI wiretaps will seemingly do him in. He was allegedly attempting to sell the senate seat vacated by Barack Obama in a "pay to play" scheme. Blagojevich, endorsed by Obama twice, is a product of the same Illinois political cesspool as Tony Rezcko and our president elect which leaves burning questions: How can his entire circle be corrupt and he not be? Five of Blagojevich's former cronies have plead guilty to public corruption charges and reportedly Rahm Emmanuel-Baracks chief of staff- has discussions with the Governor regarding the vacant senates seat which were caught on the wire taps.
