The Republican spirit of giving

If I could somehow wrestle the microphone away from Barack at the DNC convention this fall I would love to ask the following: How do you feel about the fact that your party would not have a snowballs chance in Hades of winning an election, congressional or general, unless the Republicans implode? What I find most disturbing about the democrat swagger is that they seem to be oblivious to the fact that their current position in the polls has nothing to to do with their policies. If conservatives were actually behaving as such, the dems would be relegated to the looking glass of politics for at least another twelve years.

The Republicans, through a combination of corruption , arrogance and calamity has managed to tick off its base just enough to slip in the polls and to make the democrats feel relevant. The democratic base themselves care nothing about the shortcomings of their party and continue to re-elect misfits like Sen. Dollar Bill Jefferson of Louisiana. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed and Chuck schumer have been silent about Chris Dodd's cozying up to Countywide Mortgage in order to save himself a few unearned bucks. They have all but forgotten about San Fran Nan's bold promise in 2006 to bring down gas prices. The democrats bringing down the price of something? I can remember at that time as she was speaking, I was expecting Aston Kutcher to jump from behind her and tell us we were being punked!

Every single opportunity the democrats have they owe to Republican failings. They have done nothing to earn their fat salaries since taking over both houses during the last midterms. If the Republicans want their base to remove the paper bags from their heads, and be proud one again they should do the following: STOP ACTING LIKE DEMOCRATS!

Wow, this is a lot of heat on the democrats for their shortcomings with little said about the Republican's shortcomings. It may be worth another post to write more about the Republicans can do to improve their own lot. I think it noteworthy for you to say Democrats wouldn't be anything if the Republicans were something.

On a separate note, I like that you try to create a different perspective although I disagree with you on this particular post.

BP Crisis Brings Out Radical Left

Once again the left, with the help of Jesse Jackson shows its ignorance of and hatred for capitalism. The BP crisis which began with the explosion of an offshore oil rig which resulted in a fire that killed 19 people. The pipe located one mile undersea began to spew oil into the gulf and has for over fifty days now. The Reverend has been for weeks calling for a boycott of BP. Now comes word that several BP stations have been vandalized. The fact that such vitriol and anger results from what was clearly a tragic accident is surely tragic in itself. Someone should explain to the reverend that oil companies exited the gas station business years ago. The stations are by and large owned by franchisees and independent operators who squeeze out razor thin margins on gasoline-hence the reason for the lottery tickets, potato chips and soft drinks that has become a staple of these often family owned businesses. Uncovering A Gigantic Royal Scam

The old saying "Too many chiefs and not enough Indians" is by modern standards politically incorrect. However there is a new phenomena that is could take its place. There seems to be too many Kings and Queens and not enough subjects. Peruse Facebook and one will see untold references to "Black Kings" and "Black Queens" which is intended to foster self esteem in the black community. What is wrong with this one may ask? It is built on a ridiculous premise, historical ignorance and grotesque revisionism. For starters, every culture at one time or another has been ruled by monarchs. So by this logic every Anglo British citizen is a King or a Queen since they still have a symbolic monarchy today. Kings and Queens are mere titles-not character traits. Monarchs were selected by either bloodline or bloody conquest. Some of the most dastardly rulers in history were Kings.
