We are all Indian's

India has become the latest nation to be mourned by the world. Ten Pakistani terrorist launching a well orchestrated plan, massacred 171 people in and around Mumbai formerly Bombay. There is a long history of hatred and war between India and Pakistan- not least of which is the issue of the disputed Kashmir region.

If the attacks themselves are not painful enough, listening to the blame America first crowd is even more so. It took Indian "feel good" Guru Deepak Choprak all but 5 mins to blame the US involvement in Afghanistan? The denial about Islamic terror runs deep on the left. The history as well as the present is very sobering: In America and Canada for instance there are Mosque, Temples, Churches, and Synagogues. In Muslim countries there is no such religious diversity. Minority religious populations are either subjugated or forced out as was the case in the former Christian dominated Lebanon.

Those who believe that there is some moral equivalence to this issue of Islamic terrorism are foolish. All Muslims are not global terrorist but all global terrorist are Muslims. Is there any other groups who blows up airplanes or commit mass indiscriminate killings for pleasure? The motives behind the Mumbai attacks are simple: To destroy the economy of India and force them to withdraw from Kasmir. There is only one solution to this problem and its not at the negotiation table. How do you negotiate with someone that will accept nothing but your death and you don't want to die? There is hardly a middle ground there. Obama will certainly have to get out in front of this issue unlike his two predecessors. It's important to note that the within the first year of both the Clinton and W Bush administration there were attacks on US soil- the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and 911. I hope Obama's people are reading this.

Mmmmmm, this dear Sage is difficult. I have not read or heard what Deepak Chopra has had to say about this, so I'm in the dark. I'm reluctant to take your word for it because it sounds like it is your interpretation of what he said rather than a quote. Let me put it this way, I don't blame the instability of the Congo on the US, but I believe that had Eisenhower's administration not participated in the assassination of Lumumba, a whole lot may have turned out different. I agree with you that there is little room to negotiate when there is a gun pointed at you. I also know that the greatest of human kind always manage to get others to put their guns down. These issues are complex for me and it makes me very nervous when someone is as categoric as you are about them. I wish your post would have sought to promote a conversation; it sort of puts a fullstop to any conversation . . . I love its frankness though.
