Remember When They Used to Love Us?


I have admittedly become nauseated at the left's constant obsession with our image in the world. Their delusions have convinced them that once upon a time America was loved by the world until oafishly evil George Bush and Dick "Darth Vader" Cheney ruined it. Our image in the world is shattered and the election of Barack Obama will restore that lost love. What a load of Poppycock.

Thanks to the Bush administration, this decade has been the safest one for America and its interest in three decades. There is a great deal of false optimism that Obama can "restore our image in the world" which a favorite left wing fantasy. Lets take a walk down memory lane shall we?

1979

November 4th,Radical Iranian students seized the American Embassy in and captured 52 US hostages holding them for 444 days. During the crisis thousands gathered in the streets chanting "death to America".

1983

October 23Beirut 241 Marines, part of international peacekeeping forces during the civil war in Lebanon were killed by a suicide bomber who drove an explosive filled truck into their barracks.

April 18, Beirut, Lebanon: U.S. embassy destroyed in suicide car-bomb attack; 63 dead, including 17 Americans. The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility.

Dec. 12, Kuwait City, Kuwait: Shiite truck bombers attacked the U.S. embassy and other targets, killing 5 and injuring 80.

1984

Sept. 20, east Beirut, Lebanon: truck bomb exploded outside the U.S. embassy annex, killing 24, including 2 U.S. military.

Dec. 3, Beirut, Lebanon: Kuwait Airways Flight 221, from Kuwait to Pakistan, hijacked and diverted to Tehran. 2 Americans killed.

1985

April 12, Madrid, Spain: Bombing at restaurant frequented by U.S. soldiers, killed 18 Spaniards and injured 82.
June 14, Beirut, Lebanon: TWA Flight 847 en route from Athens to Rome hijacked to Beirut by Hezbollah terrorists and held for 17 days. A U.S. Navy diver executed.

Oct. 7Mediterranean Sea: gunmen attack Italian cruise ship, Achille Lauro. One U.S. tourist killed. Hijacking linked to Libya.
Dec. 18, Rome, Italy, and Vienna, Austria: airports in Rome and Vienna were bombed, killing 20 people, 5 of whom were Americans. Bombing linked to Libya.

1986

April 2, Athens, Greece:A bomb exploded aboard TWA flight 840 en route from Rome to Athens, killing 4 Americans and injuring 9.

April 5, West Berlin, Germany: Libyans bombed a disco frequented by U.S. servicemen, killing 2 and injuring hundreds.

1988

Dec. 21, Lockerbie, Scotland: N.Y.-bound Pan-Am Boeing 747 exploded in flight from a terrorist bomb and crashed into Scottish village, killing all 259 aboard and 11 on the ground. Passengers included 35 Syracuse University students and many U.S. military personnel.

1993Feb. 26, New York City: bomb exploded in basement garage of World Trade Center, killing 6 and injuring at least 1,040 others. I

1995

Nov. 13, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: car bomb exploded at U.S. military headquarters, killing 5 U.S. military servicemen.

1996

June 25, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia: truck bomb exploded outside Khobar Towers military complex, killing 19 American servicemen and injuring hundreds of others.

1998

Aug. 7, Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: truck bombs exploded almost simultaneously near 2 U.S. embassies, killing 224 (213 in Kenya and 11 in Tanzania) and injuring about 4,500.

2000

Oct. 12, Aden, Yemen: U.S. Navy destroyer USS Cole heavily damaged when a small boat loaded with explosives blew up alongside it. 17 sailors killed.

2001

19 hijackers crashed 2 commercial jets into twin towers of World Trade Center; 2 more hijacked jets were crashed into the Pentagon and a field in rural Pa. Total dead and missing numbered 2,9921: 2,749 in New York City, 184 at the Pentagon, 40 in Pa.

The left throughout the world celebrated the inauguration of President Obama, expressing hope for the future. They of course do not know what you know sage. Resentment is a tricky thing. I for one, wish your president wisdom, God's grace and courage and for you and your fellow Americans, I wish you peace in abundance, even as you make and support war.

BP Crisis Brings Out Radical Left

Once again the left, with the help of Jesse Jackson shows its ignorance of and hatred for capitalism. The BP crisis which began with the explosion of an offshore oil rig which resulted in a fire that killed 19 people. The pipe located one mile undersea began to spew oil into the gulf and has for over fifty days now. The Reverend has been for weeks calling for a boycott of BP. Now comes word that several BP stations have been vandalized. The fact that such vitriol and anger results from what was clearly a tragic accident is surely tragic in itself. Someone should explain to the reverend that oil companies exited the gas station business years ago. The stations are by and large owned by franchisees and independent operators who squeeze out razor thin margins on gasoline-hence the reason for the lottery tickets, potato chips and soft drinks that has become a staple of these often family owned businesses. Uncovering A Gigantic Royal Scam

The old saying "Too many chiefs and not enough Indians" is by modern standards politically incorrect. However there is a new phenomena that is could take its place. There seems to be too many Kings and Queens and not enough subjects. Peruse Facebook and one will see untold references to "Black Kings" and "Black Queens" which is intended to foster self esteem in the black community. What is wrong with this one may ask? It is built on a ridiculous premise, historical ignorance and grotesque revisionism. For starters, every culture at one time or another has been ruled by monarchs. So by this logic every Anglo British citizen is a King or a Queen since they still have a symbolic monarchy today. Kings and Queens are mere titles-not character traits. Monarchs were selected by either bloodline or bloody conquest. Some of the most dastardly rulers in history were Kings.
