Wow! What a Life

The sudden death of Pop megastar Michael Jackson for me really didn't sink in until the morning after. Its very difficult accepting the death of someone that you've grown up with and who was so rooted in American culture. Michael Jackson as well as the Jackson family are like the Kennedy's American Royalty. Michael Jackson was on this earth for a very short time and he certainly made the most of it.

From his early run with the Jackson Five to his history shattering solo career the entertainment world will always have his footprint. Because of Michael, simply standing on stage and cranking out tunes won't due-you have to "bring it"! Selling a mere million albums won't get it anymore, you got to move millions! His masterpiece Thriller forever broke the mode by selling over 100 million copies to date! I'm sure his death will make that figure even more unreachable. Hundreds of sold out concerts in scores of countries, billions of dollars in merchandise, 13 #1 hit singles and revolutionizing the entertainment industry on all levels is his legacy. During the 1980's Michael's popularity worldwide reached almost messianic status. Pop culture was all Michael all the time- Just Imagine if Barack Obama could moonwalk?

In some ways, we should all envy him. He spent almost all of his 50 years on this earth doing what he loved to do at the highest level-influencing future generations across all genres of music and impacting his industry globally along the way. The strange behavior, lawsuits, mask, and exotic animals aside there will never ever be another Michael Jackson. Wow! What a life.

He was a sick Pedophile-- ANY accomplishments he may have had are wiped out by this single fact.

One of the problems with our society is that we ignore evil when it is done by entertainers/artists. He stole the childhood of innocents and got away with it because of his wealth.

The world is a better place for his passing.
