Kanye West: All The (out) Rage

Rapper Kanye, hip Hop's resident Brat has a well deserved reputation for drama. His outburst during the Hurricane Katrina telethon is legendary. West went off script ranting about the alleged racism of the rescue effort and media coverage and uttered now infamous comment "George Bush don't like black people". Not to mention his other diatribes at award shows about of his perceived slights by the music establishment. This past weekend at the MTV music video awards West outdid himself when he interrupted country singer Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for best video and gave a"shout out" to Beyonce stating she "had the best video of all time". West' hijacking of the 19 year olds moment the spotlight from Swift has earned him an avalanche of scathing criticism for inside and outside of the entertainment industry. Even our President took time out from the health care debate and his work on the economy to weigh in- reportedly calling West a "Jackass" in an off the record comment. Rock Singer Pink termed him "the worst piece of sh*t on earth. Its interesting to note that sexual predator R. Kelly nor convicted woman beater Chris Brown received this type of harsh criticism from their peers. I always find the reactions to a particular controversy more interesting than the controversy itself. Its fair to say that Kanye West is less popular than Osama Bin Laden right now. I really believe that these outburst reveal some sort of attention deficit that West is suffering from. During an appearance on the Jay Leno Show West suggested that he would take time off for reflection- its about time.
