Class War Commander In Chief

President Obama has been consistent with at least one message during his president: Soak the rich! The president has continuously vilified "millionaires, billionaires and "corporate Jet owners". The irony is that the same groups that he bashes by day, he shakes down for campaign donations at night. The economic illiteracy of those on the left including president Obama is astounding. The rich who the President seems to enjoy exploiting with his populist rhetoric are far more than just consumers of big ticket luxury items. Never meeting a microphone he doesn't fall in love with, the President is unrelenting in his calls for the wealthy to "pay their fare share" of income taxes-ignorant to the fact that the top 1% of all income earners pay approximately 38% of all income taxes. The top 54 wealthiest donors contributed a combined total of $3.3 billion to charity in 2011 to causes such as health care, poverty, education, the environment, as well as the arts and sciences.

The Wall street hedge fund managers who are routinely lambasted by President Obama for their 15% tax rates contribute tens of millions to private education. The Robin Hood Foundation founded by Billionaire Paul Tudor Jones, a veteran Wall Street trader, boast a who's who of Wall Street Titans as board members. Its purpose is to use investment principles and philanthropy to assist programs to target poverty in New York City. The foundation regularly host $3,000-$5,000 a-plate dinners in order to finance private educations for inner city youth. In addition to writing checks, Wall St. hedge fund managers regularly play in Rock bands on weekends to raise additional funds for charity. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Oprah Winfrey and the Walton family have invested close to $50m in charter schools over the past several years-in the face of "encroachment" accusations from the far left. The aforementioned Gates foundation since its inception 1994 has given away more than $25 billion dollars! Billionaire John Huntsman, one of the most benevolent men on the planet has donated approximately A$1.2 billion for causes benefiting the under privileged, the ill and the homeless.

The ramifications of class war rhetoric can been seen on the streets of New York and other American cities with the so called "Occupy Wall St." protest. Thousands of largely incoherent leftist including communist, socialist and union members are protesting for jobs and against corporate greed and have disrupted the traffic and everyday lives of New Yorkers. In other cities protesters have resorted to violence which has resulted in hundreds of arrest.Their demands among other things include a $20.00 minimum wage, free college education and of course health care-regardless of employment. Its evident that since these protest are spreading across the country, we are looking at a US version of the Arab spring.
So I would say to the president that these entrepreneurs who you feel are not paying their fare share, have been far more effective in improving education by spending their own money than the federal government could ever be. Taxing them more would certainly cause the wealthy to give less. I will assume that President Obama has never worked for a poor person, nor has anyone else. The wealthy in our society are responsible for the funding of colleges and universities, hospitals and libraries. To demonize a group of Americans who by and large are very generous, and have made tremendous sacrifices to achieve great wealth is egregious and exploitative.
