Obama Victory Reveals Troubling Trend

President Obama's victory over Mitt Romney is perplexing for those of us on the right for many reasons. The Presidents economic policies have stunted the growth of the worlds most vibrant economy. His class war 'soak the rich" rhetoric has divided the nation in a manner never before seen. A glimpse of the electoral map shows how divided we really are. Governor Romney captured victory in the south, and in strong conservative states such as Oklahoma, Kansas and Minnesota Indiana.  The states where traditional values such as faith, family, entrepreneurship and patriotism hold steady. Obama's remains popular in the secular bastions of the northeast and Northwest where same sex marriage, higher taxes, unfettered immigration and identity politics are par for the course. The map clearly shows that America is indeed becoming two nations with irreconcilable differences.

The cultural divides are the most troubling. The Democrats have successfully crafted racial, gender and class biases into a political platform that was devoured by the 18-29 year old black and Hispanic Demographic in the so called Blue states. The conservative leaning Red states pride themselves on their belief in independence, hard work, free markets and small limited government. The south has become an economic Juggernaut over the past decade through low taxes, regulation and right to work laws. Big ticket manufacturing items such as cars and steel, once a staple of the Midwest are now made in places like Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia. Contrast that with the higher unemployment, stagnant economic growth and urban decay of the blue states. The Irony is that President Obama's 2004 DNC speech spoke of not being Red state or Blue state America but the United States of America. One half of America feels that the other half is unsustainable and seeks to distance itself from it. It is a matter of time before the left wing nanny states will collapse under their own weight-with California leading the way. In order for America to survive, the ideology of leftism must be defeated. America will not survive through balkanizaion or socialist wealth redistribution policies. The great poet Khalil Gibran is the author on one of my favorite quotes: Pity the nation divided into fragments, each fragment deeming itself a nation.
