Islam vs The World

As usual, the world seems to be mired in armed conflict. There is the civil wars in Nigeria, Syria and The Congo, the war in Afghanistan, and the never ending powder keg that is Israel and Palestine. There are less reported conflicts in Mali and the horn of Africa involving Somalia and Kenya. The Philippines have been mired in a decades old old civil war with the Islamic group Abu Sayyef. Whether the world community wants to acknowledge it or not, Islam is at war with it.

The common denominator in 90% of the worlds conflicts? Islam. Muslims are waging Jihad (holy war) against Hindus in Kashmir, Christians in Egypt and Nigeria and of course Jews in Gaza. The lands that Christians have been unfortunate enough to share with Muslims have resulted in their subjugation or murder subsequent exodus. It is important to note that none of the worlds non Islamic religions are in conflict with one another. Certainly over the past 100 years, Islamic states have proven to be incapable of coexisting with others of different faiths. As a result, the Christian and Jewish populations in the Muslim states on Turkey, Iran, and Iraq declined sharply over the past several half century. These current conflicts have their roots in the last of the Islam-Christian conflicts in the 15th  and 17th century known as the Crusades. During that period, Muslims were a dominant forces in southern Spain-controlling a large area known as al-Andalus. They were expelled along with Christians by force and have been fighting to reclaim it ever since. During the height of Muslim domination, they established what is known as a Caliphate-a unified Islamic state. This would be Kingdom would institute strict Islamic or Sharia law would stretch from the Middle east all the way to South east Asia. In non Muslim lands the influx of Muslims has caused confrontations and conflicts among Europe's mainly secular population. The European continent is extremely vulnerable in that their low birth rates have forced them to rely on Muslim and other immigrants to grow their labor force in order to pay for its social welfare programs. The population shift which will undoubtedly take place in the coming decades will further exacerbate the culture clash.  There is no peaceful end to be had. Someone has to win and someone has to lose. As of right now, the loser looks to be all of us.
