World On Fire


Although crisis in the world is as old as mankind, at this particular point there are some very perplexing events taking place on just about every continent.

Iraq: Al Qaeda elements have retaken Fallujah, areas previously secured by US troops.

South Sudan: Fighting in this recently created state between the Dinka and Nuer tribes. International aid organizations have estimated the death toll at nearly 10,000 with over 400,000 fleeing to neighboring countries.

Democratic Republic Of The Congo: The rebels known as the Mai Mai Kata Katanga which is a secessionist group in the province of Katanga have been fighting the government in Kinshasa for independence

Mali: Tuareg separatist fighters tried to take over the north and Islamist militants eventually occupied the region, triggering a French military intervention last year.


Thailand: Anti-government protesters have taken to the streets of the capital since November, cutting off water and power to ministers' homes, besieging government ministries, and forcing the beleaguered prime minister, Yingluck Shinawatra, to rule from offices north of the capital in their attempt to oust her from power.


Syria: Rebel fighters have been battling Government forces loyal to the Ba'ath regime of Bashar al assad.


Central African Republic: U.N.-backed coalition of African states has sent about 4,600 to help end violence between Christians and Muslims that has left hundreds dead.
