Will Enough Blacks Embrace Conservatism To Make A Difference?

As conservatives make what at times appears to be inept attempts to reach out to blacks and Hispanics, the question is will this outreach produce the necessary results enough to tilt the country in our favor? My deepest inclination is to say not a chance and let me explain why. First, the last forty years of big government policies have all but ruined an entire generation of blacks and many have been convinced that the Democrats are our friends. Not the political chess pieces that in reality we have become. The left wing media machine has done an outstandingly nefarious job of demonizing conservatives with the standard pejoratives of racist, homophobic, sexist and the like. These negative connotations have damaged the Republican brand so much so that it causes even those blacks that agree with its positions to back away. And to insure that this continues, the Democrats inject millions of dollars into black radio to further the propaganda.

Black communities are flooded with one sided left wing messages with no competing ideas. It is highly likely that the average black child, born in the inner city could reach the advanced age of 60 and never hear conservative views. Herman Cain said it best during the 2012 Presidential campaign when he stated that "many blacks are brainwashed into not even considering a conservative point of view". Those comments as you would expect didn't go over well on MSNBC which put the focus on the comments themselves rather than entertaining their validity.

Republicans also are not helping its own cause. Every time a person on the right clumsily speaks about slavery, rape, or homosexuality, the operative words are used as confirmation of  right wing evil. The left wing media will make certain that these comments remain in the news cycle for at least two weeks and become a topic during any subsequent election cycle. It makes the left's proverbial broken clock appear to be occasionally accurate. Lastly, a core belief of conservatism is personal responsibility. Victimization does live in conservative homes. We believe that race, religion, class or circumstances are irrelevant in ones success in America, the greatest country in the world. Blacks are consistently told at University and through the aforementioned sources that the opposite is true. The moment you speak of personal responsibility and individual liberty, its rejected instantly as heresy. It clashes with the "collective sacrifice" and the race, gender, class doctrine which is at the core of liberalism.

Trusted black elites like Tavis Smiley, Cornell West, Al Sharpton and the entire Congressional Black Caucus reinforce the narrative daily. Opposing voices such as Allen West, Tom Sowell, Ben Carson and Larry Elder are discredited in the black media and community. The Only blacks who are deemed "acceptable" are those from the left. There is a percentage of blacks that are open to receiving our message but is it large enough? I have long felt that Barack Obama's election and his ensuing adulation by black youth ensures that blacks will remain firmly in Democratic clutches for generations to come. I pray that I'm wrong.
