BLM Silent As Armed Robberies Exact Toll On Black Males

In the early morning hours of September 7th on Cleveland's west side, three masked gunmen stormed into a Taco Bell in an attempted robbery. To their surprise several employees were armed and opened fire on the robbers. 24 year old Decarlo Jackson was shot six times. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other two suspects are still at large as of this writing. Unfortunately incidents such as this play out frequently around the country. A black male(s) attempts an armed robbery of a business establishment or home. At best he is shot and wounded, at worst he's killed by the armed store clerk or homeowner. In many instances it has been armed customers who have fired the fatal shot at the would be robber. The Black Lives matter crowd, the social justice establishment as well as the national media are dead silent while scores of black men are killed every year. According to the Centers for Disease Control the No.1 cause of death for black men 15-34 is homicide. However those that go unnoticed take place during the commission of violent crime.

This past February in Orange county California Geno Alexander Davis shot and killed Rasheen Briggs after he and an accomplice forced their way into his home. One of the suspects put a gun to the head of a female guest in the home demanding valuables. Davis ran into a bedroom, grabbed a gun and shot both suspects-killing Briggs and wounding the other man.  It appears that inflamed passions over the loss of black life are only triggered by the involvement of whites and or law enforcement. If there are sincere concerns about the lives of black men from their chief advocates,it would be prudent to address this clear and present danger which is precipitated entirely by the unwise decisions they make. The are plenty of statistics kept by the Justice department and the National Rifle Association on the numbers of guns used for self defense during armed robberies. Based on my non scientific research, a significant percentage of those who are killed are black men- exceeding those that are claimed by police. It stands to logic and evidence that the majority of police contact whereby black males are shot and or killed is driven by violent crime. Many in the black community chronically fail to connect the dots between grotesquely out of proportion crime rate and the aggressive policing which it invites. Nor are they cognizant of the threat that it poses to the law abiding black male population. As black male violent crime rates increase, every black male becomes a suspect. The mass incarceration and Black Lives Matter antagonist who conspicuously ignore the real threats to black lives will only insure that more of them will be lost.
