News The Other Planet Doesnt Want You To Hear
To honest observers, the mainstream media's love affair with former President Barack Obama was hardly veiled. CNN, and MSNBC'S coverage of Obama was at times downright gushing. The fawning CNN and the adoring White House press core covered Obama more like a Hollywood celebrity than a President of the United States. Conservative news sources although not without its own bias, served for many as a counterweight to the sycophant major networks.
The President's constitutional overreaches were largely unnoticed by his fans and ignored by the media. Except for Fox news, who was a favorite target of Obama who accused it of grossly distorting facts surround his administration and creating "phony' scandals. The comments he made this week about Fox News were particularly interesting. "If you watch Fox News, you are living on a different planet than you are if you, you know, listen to NPR," Obama told David Letterman on his new Netflix series "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,". I am in total agreement with him that those who watch NPR, CNN, MSNBC or read the New York Times live in an alternate universe.
For instance, listeners to NPR would almost certainly not know that his administration's policies were deleterious to black colleges. So much so that many of them threatened to sue his Department of Education for its changes to the loan plus program. Changes to the credit criteria prevented thousands of black students from receiving college loans. NPR listeners are may not know that Obama violated the war powers resolution in committing troops to Libya, or that he ordered the assassination of an American citizen in secret without due process. In National Labor Relations Board v. Noel Canning, the Pope of Hope was wrapped across the nose with the constitution. The court ruled that the President of the United States cannot use his or her authority under the constitution's recess appointment clause unless the United States Senate is in recess and unable to conduct business. On planet Obama's main stream media channels, you may not have been made aware of his dismal economic record. He holds the uniquely embarrassing distinction of being the only US President not to achieve at least 2% economic growth.
President Trump has consistently used the phrase 'Fake News" to describe just about any reporting he doesn't like. However in some instances he's been correct. ABC recently suspended reporter Brian Ross reporting that Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser, would testify that President Trump had directed him to make contact with Russian officials during the campaign. When in fact Trump issued the directive to Flynn after the election during the transition. This past June, CNN was forced to show the door to three of its reporters for false reports regarding an investigation involving alleged ties between a Russian investment fund and Trump officials. Just a few months later both CNN, CBS and MSNBC had to walk back reports that Donald Trump Jr. received an email an encryption key allowing the Trump campaign to access hacked documents from Wikileaks before they were public.
"CNN's initial reporting of the date on an email sent to members of the Trump campaign about Wikileaks documents, which was confirmed by two sources to CNN, was incorrect," CNN said in a statement. "We have updated our story to include the correct date, and present the proper context for the timing of email."
This certainly hasn't been a good year for the spaced out reporters in Obama's morally superior mainstream press. One thing that American history has shown us over the past few decades is that us earthlings can learn a great deal from exploring other planets.
