Black America's Crisis Of Values
My disgust with the recent violence of the so called "flash mobs" wreaking havoc across the country is only exceeded by the lack of a
ttention its receiving from the black civil rights establishment and media. Flash mobs were originally spontaneous dancing and singing routines organized on Facebook and or Twitter. These gatherings have been hijacked by primarily black inner city youths who have used social media sites to organize mass shoplifting sprees and violent random attacks against whites.
These violent rampages have made headlines throughout the summer in cities such as Chicago, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and Milwaukee. The mainstream cable news media that gave us months of Duke La Cross, Don Imus and Jena Six coverage have displayed their usual yellow streak when faced with black on white crime. They fail to mention the races of the perpetrators and refrain from even citing race as a potential factor in the assaults. In Milwaukee, the State fair was marred by mob violence when bands of young black men, according to witnesses roamed the streets targeting whites for assault. The dangerous lack of attention to these events from the race industry is perplexing. This wave of urban chaos and the lack of serious attention paid to it has many troubling aspects. First, white separatist groups have consistently used these types of incidents for years as a recruiting tool, targeting disconnected white youth. They have warned that whites are under attack, are losing their rights to protected minority groups (i.e. blacks, Hispanics and gays) and speak of a pending race war. These events lend credibility to their claims as their websites show videos of blacks beating and robbing whites while getting very little media coverage. This is not at all an encouraging development as these radicalized separatist groups use these issues to galvanise their members-which could result in retaliatory actions against innocent blacks.
Secondly, the lack of attention by the black vanguard is seen by some as a stark example of the long held belief that a double standard exist in the media when it comes to crimes by blacks against whites. Noticeably silent are civil rights capos Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton-the latter whose attention is focused on his latest obligatory march in Washington this week. Attorney General Eric Holder who famously stated that Americans are a "nation of cowards" regarding racial issues has himself become a coward and has not commented on the violence. This gross inaction by high profile black leaders runs the risk of alienating fair minded whites who are wondering where are Al and Jesse? The deafening silence of black leadership sends a message that the claims that we stand for justice and equality are a fallacy.
Lastly, the dwindling economic base of Americas inner cities, largely driven by crime and social decay will continue as long as this abhorrent criminal behavior is endorsed by silent agreement. The Congressional Black Caucus is currently traveling across the country with its Jobs Fair aimed at some of the hardest hit urban areas. The black unemployment rate will fail to improve independently of the black crime rate. As long as young black males terrorize America's streets and neighborhoods by routinely engaging in acts of criminality and thuggery, the social and economic fabric of our cities will continue to deteriorate. Thousands more young black men will enter the quicksand of the criminal justice system which will add the to the already dismal black socioeconomic statistics. The inconvenient truth is we have a bad culture which produces bad results. Our depressing crime, incarceration, dropout, out of wedlock births and unemployment figures are mere symptoms of this malaise. The liberal focus on jobs and economic development as the primary means of reversing these decades old trends are well intended, however they're misguided. Ignoring the spiraling decline of our culture and choosing to remain blinded by the haze of economic materialism will continue to yield urban decline. I say Build it and they will come....and destroy it.
