Change We've Seen Before

Image
Barack Obama throughout his campaign has repeated the word "change" enough to make one never want to see or here the word again. He seemingly began every speech with the phrase "the last eight years..." while oversimplifying our current economic crisis. In other words: It's all George Bush's fault. I have been trying to figure out if he's a liar, or simply ignorant. I think he might be more of the former and a little of the latter because this crisis has almost nothing to do with Bush. Surely you can blame him for the failure to use his veto pen which resulted in increased spending, however the implosion of the credit system and housing market requires a little deeper explanation. The present economic meltdown has taken shape not over the past eight years. It has in fact been brewing for the past sixty! The new deal programs of FDR gave birth to the entitlement nation we have today. History shows that once government expands it never reverts back to its ...

Groundhog Day in Illinois

Image
There are a few of things you can count on in Illinois: The Cubs won't win a world series, The Taste of Chicago Festival in Grant Park and one of their Governors being investigated. Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was arrested by FBI agents last week on public corruption charges. The Governor's own words captured on FBI wiretaps will seemingly do him in. He was allegedly attempting to sell the senate seat vacated by Barack Obama in a "pay to play" scheme. Blagojevich, endorsed by Obama twice, is a product of the same Illinois political cesspool as Tony Rezcko and our president elect which leaves burning questions: How can his entire circle be corrupt and he not be? Five of Blagojevich's former cronies have plead guilty to public corruption charges and reportedly Rahm Emmanuel-Baracks chief of staff- has discussions with the Governor regarding the vacant senates seat which were caught on the wire taps. Obama's office has issued an internal report stating that...

What's in a name? Now we know

There have been many Social science studies which have concluded names can be a factor in the success or failure of an individual. Particular interest has been paid to "urban" or "ethnic" names as more likely to result in stigmatization of those children to whom these names are given. Some suggest that giving black children more common names like Jordan, Michael or Sharon will make their chances for success a little easier. Currently, we have the three most prominent blacks in the world who are named Oprah, Condoleezza and Barack. One is a billionaire, one Secretary of State and the other the next leader of the free world. Does this mean we can now shut up about the importance of names?

We are all Indian's

Image
India has become the latest nation to be mourned by the world. Ten Pakistani terrorist launching a well orchestrated plan, massacred 171 people in and around Mumbai formerly Bombay. There is a long history of hatred and war between India and Pakistan- not least of which is the issue of the disputed Kashmir region. If the attacks themselves are not painful enough, listening to the blame America first crowd is even more so. It took Indian "feel good" Guru Deepak Choprak all but 5 mins to blame the US involvement in Afghanistan? The denial about Islamic terror runs deep on the left. The history as well as the present is very sobering: In America and Canada for instance there are Mosque, Temples, Churches, and Synagogues. In Muslim countries there is no such religious diversity. Minority religious populations are either subjugated or forced out as was the case in the former Christian dominated Lebanon. Those who believe that there is some moral equivalence to this issue of Islami...

The Halls of Shame

Image
The latest case of "athletes gone wild" has really perplexed me unlike any other recent event. NY Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burres' shot himself in the leg while at a NY nightclub. Burres' will be not only charged with illegal gun possession, he was suspended by the Giants for the remainder of the season jeopardizing his multi-million dollar contract. I was disturbed by the revelation from Rev. Al Sharpton that representatives from Burress's camp contacted his office. Why would Sharpton be contacted? To mount a public relations assault no doubt but could it have been to paint Burres' punishment as excessive based on race? Possibly. After Michael Vick's self destruction, Marion Jones , Adam "Pac Man" Jones, Ricky Williams multiple weed infractions, and let's not forget to countless tales of serial siring have forever tainted the image of the modern day black athlete. The arrest records of black NFL'ers is only dwarfed by their college ...

Cheating, Woman and Crime

The age old phrase, hell hath no fury like a women scorned is alive and well in America . I was in the grocery store the other day and overheard a women singing very loudly. The song which she and many women adore was the smash hit " Before he cheats " by American Idol winner and country music star Carrie Underwood. The song is about a woman who goes Al Qaeda on her man's ride because of his philandering. Although, The lyrics are sung by woman nationwide with glee, I however find them very disturbing: I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped 4 wheel drive, carved my name into his leather seats...I took a Louisville slugger to both headlights, slashed a hole in all 4 tires...Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats . Gee, I wonder what he could have possibly seen in that other woman? Maybe sanity? In 2001, Pop R&B singer Blu Cantrell's smash " Hit em up style " sings about taking her girlfriends on a spending spree with her cheati...

Welcome to Arma-gay-don

In the nearly three weeks since proposition 8 passed, the terrorist wing of California's gay community has expressed their displeasure by declaring all out war on any and everyone they feel is full of hate. Proposition 8 is an amendment to the state's constitution which defines marriage between a man and a woman. The passage of this bill has sent gay protesters into the streets blocking traffic and some targeting churches. Over 1,000 protesters gathered in front of an LA Mormon church.-which supported proposition 8. 10,000 protesters gathered peacefully outside of Manhattans Mormon church. Unfortunately, not all of the protest are peaceful or even respectful. The radical strain of the gay mafia has taken their disapproval of prop 8 to a very dangerous level. Video captured several gay activist ambushing a Church service in San Francisco. After interrupting the proceedings with chants of 'its OK to be gay", two of them engaged in a kiss before throwing hundreds on lea...

The Coming Power Struggle

Barack Obama's election to the presidency has delighted blacks and Hispanics alike. The two largest minority groups are celebrating a new era in America politics. Blacks are obviously joyful that the doors of access to the highest level of American politics have suddenly swung open. There have been discussions about black power brokers who have been on the fringes of political power now having an opportunity to sit at the big table. The X factor in this new political landscape- Hispanics- now the largest minority group in America turned out ten million strong to vote for Obama. Hispanics are expected to project even greater political leverage in the coming years which has not gone unnoticed by them or the Democrats. They are certainly looking for a return on that ten million vote investment. The Democrats will certainly attempt to exploit that voting block in order to maintain a firm grip on power in the coming decade. The question is what will Hispanics want in return? They will n...

Obama's Bubble

The United States has elected it's first African American President, Barack Obama. To his credit Obama ran a very competent campaign albeit thin on substance. The campaign targeted young people and new voters with empty slogans like hope , Chang e and chants of "y es we can ". For all the talk about racism, Obama's created a financial behemoth, raising over $600,000,000-more than any presidential candidate in US history! To say the newspaper headlines around the world were euphoric is a gross understatement. One UK headline read " One giant leap for mankind ", a poster in Italy read " The world has changed ". There were celebrations in London, Kenya and Australia. " What an inspiration. He is the first truly global U.S. president the world has ever had ," said Pracha Kanjananont, a 29-year-old Thai sitting at a Starbuck's in Bangkok, Thailand. Rama Yade, France's Junior minister of Human rights said 'this is the fall of t...

Dear Obama Supporters

When you vote for the Democratic party as mindless as blacks have over the past four decades, you do more than vote to elect officials-you endorse its value system. The liberal value system is Marxist materialism, anti family and anti god at its core. The state is the end all, be all. I would ask that is it a co-incidence that since we switched to the that party we have declined socially and economically as a people? Do you think its a co-incidence that all the major cities that are social and economic basket cases happen to be Democratic strongholds? Can any of you name a large city or any other city like Youngstown, Gary, Baltimore or Camden that's controlled and populated by conservatives? Why do you think the Democrats are trying to get felons and convicts to vote? What's the attraction? The problem with many -especially Obama cool aid drinkers- is that they are so emotionally invested in voting for politicians in order to affect change. There is very little emphasis on v...

Bush Hatred: Cracking the Code

My favorite talk show host Dennis Prager has repeatedly expressed his perplexity at the hatred of George W. Bush by the left. This hatred- playfully known as Bush Derangement Syndrome or BDS- has become a downright epidemic on the left. Bush is blamed for everything from 911 to the Cubs not winning a World Series. After a long period of observing "leftist thought", I have outlined a few key points that I feel will help to explain this phenomenon. Let's begin by getting the easy ones out of the way. 1. Republican, Christian, Conservative : No three attributes invoke more hatred from the left because they trample on every single one of their deeply held positions primarily secularism, and socialism. After all, who is he to think that faith, family and liberty are superior to race and class? 2. The 2000 election : This was the first of many Bush misfortunes. He ended 8 years of liberal- palooza known as the Clinton years. The Clinton era gave a reprieve to the left after ...

Worst Economy Since The Depression?

One of the hundreds of things I despise about television news is the cliches that emerge from the world of political punditry. The worn out phrases "the last eight years", "Bush's failed economic policies" immediately come to mind. The latest one that disturbs me is "This is the worst economy since the great depression". I wonder why these types of statements are almost always uttered by democrats? I would like to partake in one of my favorite pastimes: poking holes in liberal none sense. During the great depression 25-30% of Americans were out of work, almost half of the nations 25,000 banks failed, thousands were standing in bread and soup lines and Wall Street investors were jumping out of windows! Then there was the 1970's and 80's when inflation reached double digits, rust best jobs were disappearing which caused unemployment rates between 7-11%.I take no comfort in the fact that these comments are spewed by so called "financial exper...

Community Organized Crime

Suddenly the nondescript profession of "community organizer" has a PR problem. The offices of ACORN, the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now, (essentially a bunch of government funded angry liberals with clip boards) were raided by federal authorities seeking evidence of voter fraud. Its alleged that these moral giants are accused of submitting false voter registration forms with duplicate names. News came today that the investigation has widened to offices in five other states including Ohio and Missouri. ACORN specializes in registering low income voters (i.e. Democrats). They require their employees to register 20 voters per day at the risk of not being paid-talk about voting for change. According to reports, ACORN canvassed soup kitchens and homeless shelters seeking voters. During previous elections, volunteers have loaded up their vehicles with the homeless and drove them to polling stations. This further confirms a deeply held belief of many years: It se...

The Looming Financial Holocaust

Since the bailout bill was passed a week and a half ago, the stock market has dropped like a bowling ball off the Sears Tower. The Dow is now at 9,000! One year ago today, the Dow stood at over 14,000. We seem to be on the brink of a global financial meltdown with no end in sight. In the past week the British and Irish governments intervened to prop up their banking systems. The Icelandic government took over its 3rd largest bank, Glitnir to avoid a collapse. Now there is word that a ''Global Financial Summit" has is being discussed to deal with the crisis. Ordinarily I would be optimistic about America's ability to rebound from financial turmoil. After all, we have been through this before. There was the panic of 1907, the great depression from 1929 to the early 1940's, there was the Savings & Loan collapse of the mid 1980's, the stock market crash of 1987 and last but certainly not least the September 11Th terrorist attacks. Trading was halted after the ...

Chris Rock: Minister of X-Rated Culture

I just sat through an embarrassing one hour comedy special by Chris Rock. The special consisted of three performances from three different continents: Johannesburg South Africa, London and New York. Rock, a favorite of the left, touched on a few hot button topics like politics and sex. The latter took up a great deal of his routine. I had serious thoughts of throwing my television out the window. This week on Larry King, Rock said that we should "vote for the guy with one house". If wealth is his criteria, by his own brilliant logic he would have voted for Bush-Cheney in 2000 and 2001-they have far less wealth than Kerry-Edwards combined. You have an American, standing in front of thousands in a country which less than twenty years ago had its black population living in virtual slavery, slamming my president who is five times more decent than just about every leader they have ever had. Not to mention the self righteous British who through colonialism and imperialist ambition c...

The Fed's Helping Hand

It's been a tumultuous week on Wall street. The Dow over two days dropped 700 points only to recover and finish the week with a small gain. What drove this roller coaster ride was a series of near financial cataclysms: The bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, the near bankruptcy of AIG and the sale of Merrili Lynch to Bank of America. A week earlier the feds took control of mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. This looming financial catastrophe sent the Treasury and Congress scurrying for a solution and it came in the form of a $70 billion rescue package. A government entity will be created in order to warehouse all the bad debt on the books of these companies, similar to the Resolution Trust Corporation which saved us during the Savings & Loan scandal on the 80's. There are two schools of thought on the subject of bailouts: One side(congress) thinks this was the only option considering how intertwined these financial behemoths are with the global economy-leaving them to ...

Liberal Foreign Relations

This past week at the MTV awards, the audience was forced to suffer through an attempt at political humor by a nondescript British comedian named Russel Brand. He began by urging Americans to elect Brack Obama for "the good of the world". Brand also made sexually charged comments about Vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and of course the devil himself, George Bush by referring to him as "that retarded Cowboy fella". Entertainers bashing Republicans is nothing new however this latest tirade gave me pause. The reason why foreigners feel free to come to our country to bash our leaders is because the entertainment industry has given them license to do so. They go around the world ala the Dixie Chicks, Michael Moore and Harry Belafonte and bash our country and leaders (Republicans) in order to ingratiate themselves to the "morally superior" world community. When you hear the narrative about the world hating us, its important to remember where it come...

Oh, Canada! Do you Hate Palin too?

The following is an excerpt from a column by Heather Mallick of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. ' Mallick's column -- "A mighty wind blows through Republi can convention" -- advances two theses: (1) That John McCain's selection of 44-year-old Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his VP nominee was a crass gesture meant to appease the party's "rural," "unlettered" "white trash" base; and (2) that Palin herself is a tacky, badly dressed redneck who looks like a "porn actress." Then comes the coup de grace -- Mallick's assault on Palin's family: "[17-year-old] Bristol has what is known in Britain as the look of the teen mum, the ' pramface .' Husband Todd looks like a roughneck; Track, heading off to Iraq, appears terrified. They claim to be family-obsessed while being studiously terrible at parenting. What normal father would want Levi 'I'm a f--kin' redneck' Johns...

Kwame Kilpatrick's scandalous awakening

I have to admit that whenever a political scandal breaks in the news I can't wait to tune in to Jay Leno to see what hilarious cracks he comes up with. Earlier this year we've seen New York Governor Elliot Spitzer resign over revelations he was involved with a prostitution ring. This week Embattled Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick plead guilty to two felony counts of obstruction of Justice which results in four months jail time, five years probation and he must pay 1 million dollars in restitution. The charges stem from a civil suite filed by his former body guards claiming they were fired unjustly by Kilpatrick for an internal probe into his personal conduct. One these allegations was an affair with his aid Christine Beatty . The obstruction of justice charges were brought against him for lying under oath about the affair. I remember thinking to myself when Kilpatrick was first elected that he was too young and immature for that kind of responsibility. Once in office, his ...

For New Orleans,a real Governor is the difference

In 2005, The city of New Orleans was washed away while its leaders Ray Nagin and Governor Kathleen Blanco fumbled the ball. In Nagin's spectacular incompetence, he waited until 24 hrs before the storm to call for an evacuation, he left the emergency vehicles on low ground to be flooded and his Governor put ego ahead of pragmatism and wasted precious time before declaring a state of emergency. One half of this comedy team Blanco, has been ousted while Nagin got another shot due largely to his complexion. Blanco was thankfully defeated in 2007 by Bobby Jindal a young 37 year old Republican superstar. Jindal, an east indian is the first to win elected office. Very tough on corruption and political perks, he has brought something to Louisiana politics that they have never seen before: transparency. Since taking office he struck 16 million in government waste from the state budget, instituted financial disclosure reforms, and transparency rules for lobbyists. Jindal was magnificent in ...

McCain's Northern Exposure

You have to give it to McCain's team. They were down and out a year ago and strapped for cash that the straight talk express was grinding to a screeching halt- Now, its seems its running full steam ahead. Team McCain this morning confirmed it selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate. Palin 44, is a strong fiscal and cultural conservative, mother of five and very pro life. She's also strong on gun rights and will no doubt be a favorite of the NRA. A first term governor, elected in 2006 Palin currently enjoys an 80% approval rating. She's already injected a shot of adrenaline in to the lethargic conservative base and will no doubt give McCain a foothold on some of the still disaffected Hillary Clinton supporters. This rounds out the entire 2008 presidential race as a historic one, with Palin trying to become the first woman vice president in history. I have no doubt that Palin is more valuable to the McCain ticket than Biden is to ...

America, Basketball and Globalization

I went to bed a little early just so I could wake up in the middle of the night to watch my beloved USA basketball team featuring NBA superstars Lebron James and Kobe Bryant squeak by Spain in the Gold medal game. It was the first victory for the USA in major international competition since the Sydney Olympics in 2002. Basketball powerhouses like Spain, Greece and Argentina were well represented with their own NBA stars as were all other countries. In the 1992 Barcelona games, The "Dream Team" comprised of "Majic" Johnson, Michael Jordan, and Larry Bird steamrolled the competition with an average victory margin of over 35 points. Since then the world has caught up to the USA. They learned the game from American coaches via clinics, developed their own professional leagues and as a result sent several dozen more players to the NBA and top US colleges over the past 15 years. In 1992 there were 21 foreign born NBA players, in the 2007-08 season there were over 70! The ...

It's O-Biden in 08!

I woke up this morning to the news that Barack Obama has finally chosen his sidekick for the November election-Senator Joseph Biden from Delaware. I now must look at two of my least favorite politicians together all the time. Biden, a career politician of over 20 years first appeared on the national radar in 1998 while running for president. In recent years due to our operations overseas he has been more visible and critical of Bush policy as head of the Senate Foreign relations committee. According to the experts, Biden gives Obama more foreign policy panache', much in the way Cheney did for President Bush. Cheney, who has been criticized for exuding more power and influence in our foreign policy, has been dubbed "Darth Vader" by the left. He's been accused of being the dark force behind the scenes as Bush's puppeteer in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Overall for Obama, its a smart choice, it will be interesting to see how much credit or discredit Biden receiv...

Georgia, Not On Their Minds

It has been two weeks since the Russia invaded Georgia and the peace train is still at the station. No word from code Pinko uh... I mean Pink or any of those other pacifist so called peace advocates. I have not seen any organized protest outside any Russian embassy or the UN. Truth is, I didn't expect any so I'm not disappointed. These observations serve to validate what I believe about most "peace advocates": That is they hate the United States and take advantage of every opportunity to show us how much they do. They have no problem with communism, totalitarianism, or brutal dictators, their objective is to turn our entire country into San Francisco complete with dancing and weekly concerts by groups like Peter Paul and Mary, Joan Baez and Arlo Guthrie on the white House Lawn. The irony is they care nothing about peace, they're pacifist who don't want the US to project its power as a force for good in the world. They would like nothing more than to turn the ...

Can McCain come home again?

To say that John McCain is not my first choice would be the understatement of the month. I am supporting him largely on his foreign policy ideas- I think that he "gets it". McCain fully understands the stakes in Iraq and the war against Islamic terror. However, I am reminded how McCain went through great lengths to show Democrats how conservative he wasn't . He now has spent the greater part of the past year trying to convince the base how conservative he is. Unfortunately for him, he may have worn out his welcome with many grassroots conservatives. The McCain- Feingold campaign finance bill, his initial opposition to the Bush tax cuts, and his association with the so called "gang of 14" are just a few incidents where conservatives have beefs with him. His support of amnesty for illegals has earned him the nickname "Juan" McCain. The Saddleback church conference with Reverend Rick Warren this past weekend has re-gained him favor with some of the base....

The Russians are here?

I was in the barbershop on Saturday speaking to another patron. He was relaying a story to me about a co-worker who upon hearing the news of the invasion of the Republic of Georgia by Russia remarked " Man, I'm glad I didn't go to Atlanta this weekend! .Something to think about: This guy might be a registered voter..

America's crisis of values

A few months ago I stopped at a CVS store not far from my home. The manager checked my items out for me and began to lament the 2:30 daily invasion of local high schools students that was just minutes way. " Do the students cause a problem? I asked, his response was " they steal everything, if they don't leave their bags at the door then I don't let them in " he said. These students, by the way are not poor "inner city" kids, but suburban kids from Cleveland Hts which has a median household income of over $47,000. From that day on I would notice signs at every drug stores or convenience stores. Some of them read "no students under 18 in store without adult supervision. Others limit the number of students allowed in or mandate that they leave their backpacks at the door before entering. I was watching a program on MSNBC and one of my least favorite lefties, Harry Belafonte was speaking to inmates at a state penitentiary as he often does. Banana ma...

Radical Islam for Dummies

You have to give it to the Iranians. They're insane but at least they're consistent. The Mullahs with a straight face repeatedly tell the UN that their nuclear weapons program is for "peaceful" means. Brian Williams wasted jet fuel flying over to Tehran to ask Ahmadenejad cotton ball questions like "Is your message to the world a message of confrontation or cooperation? What do you think Ammadwackjob's response was? Brian should have asked him what does an oil producing nation need with nuclear power? Yes, of coarse he wants cooperation, it's Bush and the great Satan that wants confrontation Brian? I am confounded by the the pure ignorance of the left with regard to the mindset of Muslim countries. They care nothing about ipods , SUV's and big homes. The radical strain of Islam-which In my opinion accounts for 25% of the Muslim population- wants to return to the Caliphate. A Caliphate, in short is a united Muslim state controlled by a leader called...

The Republican spirit of giving

If I could somehow wrestle the microphone away from Barack at the DNC convention this fall I would love to ask the following: How do you feel about the fact that your party would not have a snowballs chance in Hades of winning an election, congressional or general, unless the Republicans implode? What I find most disturbing about the democrat swagger is that they seem to be oblivious to the fact that their current position in the polls has nothing to to do with their policies. If conservatives were actually behaving as such, the dems would be relegated to the looking glass of politics for at least another twelve years. The Republicans, through a combination of corruption , arrogance and calamity has managed to tick off its base just enough to slip in the polls and to make the democrats feel relevant. The democratic base themselves care nothing about the shortcomings of their party and continue to re-elect misfits like Sen. Dollar Bill Jefferson of Louisiana. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed an...

Obama-maniacs and their coming crash

Barack Obama took his Gush-fest tour on the road last week, playing stops in Europe and the Middle east. In Germany, Obama entertained a crowd that rivaled Michael Jackson during the Thriller years. I did use the word entertained intentionally since his speech wasn't much more than that. The excitement behind this guy really perplexes me- I just don't get the hype. I am, however truly concerned about his worshipers. Yes, I said worshipers since the term "supporters" just doesn't describe them accurately. The Obama hysteria is reaching an all out fever pitch and will hit downright beatle-mania if he wins the election in November. If he wins or loses it will no doubt end badly for his fans-particularly blacks who see him as Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali all rolled up into one. If he loses in November there will be a collective emotional crash much bigger than the New England Patriots experienced this year in the Superbowl. If Obama wins, eventua...

The real value of education

One would expect that a young man just convicted of multiple charges hanging from the ceiling of his jail cell would be perhaps a high school drop out, a drug dealer or some other misfit that had fallen through Societies cracks. You would not expect him to be a graduate of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and who was president of his own Investment fund. Kirk Wright obtained his masters from Harvard and immediately went to work for a corporate consulting firm as a Vice President. He then founded Investment firm International Management Associates, a fledgling hedge fund, in the basement of a home he shared with his wife Kassandra. Hedge funds are lightly regulated investment funds that cater to wealthy investors. With his Harvard credentials and connections within Atlanta social circles he managed to procure hundreds of investors including doctors and retired NFL players. Mr. Wright's firm eventually grew to assets of over $180,000,000! The only problem was Wright had abs...

Is Black America Ready for a Black President? Not

Ever since Barack Obama emerged as the front runner for the Democratic nomination for President, the question that has been asked repeatedly? Is Black America ready for a black president? The answer in my opinion is a resounding no!  Blacks have achieved virtually everything possible in America and have reached just about every political aspiration except for president. In terms of readiness, we would have to be able to accept the scathing criticism that will no doubt come to a President Obama as it does to every president. If one were to take into consideration the unhinging of blacks whenever St. Barack is questioned gives me great pause. For many years Black conservatives have been subjected to being called sellout, uncle Tom and the like whenever our opinions stray from the liberal lockstep. During this very heated Democratic primary typically, loved Lefties like Tavis Smily and the former honorary Black Royals the Clintons have been thrown under the proverbial bus bec...

Robbing Paul to pay Paul

It is expected that during an election season to hear a certain amount of political pandering. This election season has been particularly egregious. It was deja vu all over again this year with the democrats annual pander fest. Usually at the height of the driving season when gas prices are squeezing the life out of our wallets, congress in order to justify their paychecks parade oil executives in front of the television cameras and grill them on how much they're paid. Don't you just love that? millionaires chastising other millionaires on how rich they are. The most amusing example was a statement by one of the richest women in the senate Barbara Boxer. Senator Boxer, Democrat of California, said, "Working people struggle with high gas prices, and your sacrifice, gentlemen, appears to be nothing." She noted that the executives were making millions of dollars in salaries, bonuses and stock awards. What I find to be most Orwellian is the fact that Senator Boxer pu...
